Steve Carell's mind "gravitated towards food" when he thought about how he'd spend his last days on Earth.

The funnyman stars in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World alongside Keira Knightley, which follows the story of a man in search of his childhood sweetheart as an asteroid nears the planet.

Steve has joked that filling his stomach would be his number one priority if he ever found himself in the same situation.

"My thoughts gravitated toward food, like a very good pizza," he deadpanned in an interview with Parade.com. "We've had deep-dish delivered from Giordano's, Gino's East, and Lou Malnati's in Chicago. You can just call and have it shipped to you on dry ice."

Steve has emerged as a romantic leading man, thanks to his roles in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and Crazy, Stupid, Love. The 49-year-old star is still pleasantly surprised by the success he's had alongside some of Hollywood's hottest women.

"I know you're asking that with a sense of irony because clearly, no," he smiled when asked if he ever saw his career taking the path of "romantic lead".

"How did I end up in films with people like Keira Knightley and Julianne Moore? All these beautiful leading ladies and me - it's kind of shocking."
