Steven Robertson: I feel very lucky

Steven Robertson plays PC Sandy Wilson in new drama Shetland

Steven Robertson has said he feels "very lucky" to have the career he's got.

The Scottish actor is known for TV shows such as Luther and Being Human and now stars in new BBC murder mystery Shetland, playing policeman Sandy Wilson.

Steven, who is set to wed Charlotte, his partner of 12 years, said: "There have been years when jobs have fallen through, and I've had to make sacrifices, but you can't sit around worrying about it. Nobody's shooting at me.

"I got proper acting training, met Charlotte and made a living out of what I really like doing, I'm positive because I feel very lucky."

The actor also revealed he manages to go out and about without being recognised.

"Once a guy came up to me in the pub and said, 'You look just like one of those evil twins off Luther'. I didn't tell him the truth for a while but eventually I did. Most people in the pub have no idea I'm an actor," he said.

:: Shetland begins on BBC One on Sunday, March 10.

Gemini:

You never do anything in moderation. Attend every fun party, accept every juicy offer and try all the delectable treats spread before you. Avoid unpleasant people and activities like the plague. This should be a time of enjoyment. Leave your list of chores at home. You can always attend to these jobs at another time. If you have a chance to show your creative work to a publisher, manager or agent, go ahead. This is also a great opportunity to go on job interviews, auditions and first dates.More
