Stewart confirms she's Affleck's love interest

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart has confirmed she will star as Ben Affleck's love interest in forthcoming film Focus.

The Twilight star was long rumoured to have landed the role in the sexy comedy about a veteran grifter who takes an attractive young woman under his wing.

Fans began to chatter about how the part might affect Kristen's relationship with boyfriend Robert Pattinson.

The couple are believed to have reconciled after she famously cheated on Rob with married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

HollywoodLife.com reported Kristen and Ben would be required to shoot "passionate" love scenes.

Ben subsequently admitted he hoped Kristen would take the role.

Speaking to E! News last month, the Argo director called her "terrific".

Kristen acknowledged on Saturday she has signed on for the steamy new film.

"I can confirm that rumour," she told The Huffington Post.

"It's a comedy. I'm really excited about it," she added.

Kristen said Focus will start shooting in April.

The 22-year-old actress said she currently does not have any projects lined up until then.
