Sting's daughter Eliot Sumner has revealed she is gay and in a relationship with a woman.

Sting's singer daughter Eliot Sumner is dating a woman.

The musician, who previously used the name Coco, opened up about her sexuality during an interview with Britain's ES magazine, revealing she has been in a relationship with Austrian model Lucie Von Alten for two years.

Eliot insists she has never felt the need to discuss her sexual preference with her famous family because "no one had ever asked".

"They knew already," she adds to the publication. "So I didn't need to (come out). I've never come out to anyone. My friends always knew and I always knew."

The 25 year old, whose mother is Trudie Styler, goes on to explain that she does not identify with a particular gender, adding, "I don't believe in any specifications... I think forever I was trying to figure out maybe... what I am. But I don't think anyone should feel pressured to have any kind of label or tag on them.

"We should treat everybody the same. Me, I don't like to be put down to a specific thing. We're all human beings."

Eliot released her debut album The Constant under the band name I Blame Coco in 2010, and she is set to make a return to the charts next year (16) with a new record titled Information.
