Stone settles lawsuit with nanny
Sharon Stone has settled a year-long legal battle with a former nanny she accused of stealing.
Erlinda Elemen was reportedly hired to look after the actress’ children and began working as her lead nanny in 2008.
The woman initially filed suit against her former boss in May 2012.
She claimed the actress made derogatory statements about her Filipino accent and said her people were “stupid”.
She also alleged she sometimes worked seven days a week, was not allowed to have a bible in the star’s home and claims Stone wrongfully accused her of stealing.
The actress responded with a countersuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court in April.
Stone claimed she loaned Elemen $12,500 in 2010 but was only repaid $3,000.
The actress was suing for $9,500 plus interest claiming Elemen stopped making payments in January 2011.
Elemen was apparently fired the following month.
She claimed Stone was in violation of labour laws and had filed a complaint with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing in February 2012 alleging harassment, failure to prevent harassment and retaliation.
According to Radar Online, court documents show a settlement was reached on May 31.
Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
