Kristina Rihanoff and Ben Cohen have become parents together for the first time.

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer (38) and the 37-year-old ex-England rugby player said they were proud parents to "a beautiful baby girl".

A statement added: "Ben and Kristina are delighted to confirm they are the parents of a beautiful baby girl.

"They would like to thank friends and family for all their kind wishes at this happy time."

The couple have yet to reveal the date of birth or any further details about their daughter. Rihanoff and Cohen met during the 2013 series of Strictly Come Dancing, when they were paired together on the popular BBC One show.

They became a couple the following year, after Cohen separated from his wife of 13 years, Abby, with whom he has two daughters.

Russian-born Rihanoff revealed her pregnancy news during a stint in the Celebrity Big Brother house earlier this year.

Last year, the so-called "Siberian Siren" was paired up with Irish crooner Daniel O'Donnell on the show.

However, her happiness was clouded by constant speculation about her love life and by stories insinuating that she had been given the Irish singer as a punishment.
