Students want Bruce, not Snooki
Students at a US university have launched a campaign to bring Bruce Springsteen to their college and counteract the fallout from a recent appearance by Jersey Shore star Snooki.
The reality TV star, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, was paid 32,000 dollars to answer questions at Rutgers University, the largest university in New Jersey.
Now students who didn't enjoy Snooki's appearance have started a Facebook campaign called Let's Bring the Boss to Rutgers! in a bid to encourage New Jersey native Bruce to visit.
One of the organisers, freshman Daniel Oliveto told the Asbury Park Press Snooki's message to "study hard, but party harder" was offensive. The TV star was paid 2,000 dollars more than Rutgers will fork out for Nobel-winning novelist Toni Morrison to deliver the commencement address.
The students hope Bruce would either perform or have a question-and-answer session similar to the sit-down Snooki gave last month.
