Suge Knight ‘used vehicle as deadly weapon’
Suge Knight was not engaged in self defence when he drove into two men, according to one of the men’s family.
The 49-year-old is currently in prison awaiting trial for the alleged murder of Terry Carter and attempted murder of Cle ‘Bone’ Sloan. It follows an altercation on January 29 in the Los Angeles suburb of Compton, California. While the former music mogul has pleaded not guilty to the charges, a video of the incident was obtained by TMZ on Monday and will prove crucial to the case.
The footage graphically shows Knight’s truck striking and killing Terry, and the deceased’s family now say the video shows there was no sign of self defence as had previously been claimed by Knight’s legal team.
“The death was caused by unnecessary acts of violence initiated by Cle [Bone] Sloan attacking Mr. Knight and Mr. Knight choosing to retaliate by using his motor vehicle as a deadly weapon,” the family’s lawyer told the outlet.
The attorney suggested that the former CEO of Death Row Records was “gunning” for Cle but struck Terry instead in his red vehicle. He added Terry had done nothing to provoke the situation which led to his death and that Knight is lying when he claims the dead man had set him up in the hours before the incident.
Meanwhile Knight’s representative claims he was not trying to run either man over but instead was trying to escape out of fear he would be killed as both Cle and Terry supposedly had guns.
