Susan Sarandon: Call me Honey
Eva Amurri and Kyle Martino’s daughter will have an unusual name, and grandma Susan Sarandon will have an unusual nickname.
The actress is about to be a grandmother for the first time. Her daughter, actress Eva Amurri Martino, 29, is expecting a baby with her husband Kyle Martino, with the couple’s daughter due in August.
Apparently, Eva and Kyle have already chosen a name for their little one.
“It’s not a vegetable, a city or a place,” Susan told People at the Coach Summer Party on the Highline in New York earlier this week. “It’s a real name, but it’s unusual. I really like it.”
For now the baby’s name is being kept a secret. Susan’s new nickname will also be unusual as she wants to be called “Honey” not Grandma.
“I borrowed this name from a very dear friend of mine who’s from the South, and his grandma was ‘Honey,’” Susan previously told People. “That’s what I’m experimenting with, and Eva likes it, so we’ll see.”
The Oscar-winning grandma-to-be is very excited. “I’m making my way to L.A. and cleared August and most of September to be with her,” Susan gushed.
The Tammy actress is even excited to sign up for diaper duty and can’t wait to spoil her granddaughter.
“I’m going to follow all my daughter’s rules, but behind her back I’m going to break them and spoil the baby because I think that’s what grandmothers are for,” she shared.
The soon-to-be parents are equally excited for their first child. Having a family has apparently been a priority for the couple, who were married in October 2011.
“We couldn’t be happier!” Eva and Kyle previously told People about the pregnancy.
