Taryn Manning 'arrested'
Taryn Manning has reportedly been taken into custody for breaking a domestic restraining order against her former friend.
The actress, best known as Tiffany 'Pennsatucky' Doggett in Netflix series Orange Is the New Black, and her previous close pal Jeanine Heller had been ordered to stay away from one another after a mutual domestic restraining order was set.
This came after Taryn accused Jeanine of stalking her by bombarding her with messages and calls between April and July of this year.
Jeanine was then arrested in September for violating the protection order by calling and emailing Taryn. She pleaded guilty to misdemeanour criminal contempt in the second degree and was sentenced to six months of treatment, including mental health counselling.
However, TMZ now claims Taryn has broken the order by threatening to kill Jeanine through various texts and social media. It was apparently ruled on Tuesday that Taryn violated the order. The star wasn't in court, so the judge allegedly cited her for contempt before police arrested her.
Jeanine was ordered to stay out of trouble when she pleaded guilty in September and her next hearing is scheduled for January, when she will give an update on her progress.
Speaking after her arrest, her attorney Jeremy Saland gave a statement.
"This plea reflects what we have maintained since the inception of this case. That is, Ms. Heller was not on a campaign to harass and stalk Taryn Manning. Simply, Ms. Heller took responsibility for a phone call she placed to Ms. Manning in August," he told E! News. "Although Ms. Heller made no threats of any kind during that call, any contact, even if initiated by a party with whom there was a prior relationship, is impermissible where an order of protection is in place."
