Channing Tatum has been named the Sexiest Man Alive in a new magazine poll
The Vow actor beat a host of celebrity heartthrobs to take the top spot in People magazine's 2012 list - but he admitted he thought it was a joke when he heard the news.
Channing, who is married to his Step-Up co-star Jenna Dewan, said: "My first thought was, 'Y'all are messing with me'.
"I told Jenna after we'd been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they'd gotten skunked. She was like, 'What?'"
The actor, who flashed his abs in this year's Magic Mike, revealed he likes to keep himself in good shape.
"I like to be lean. If I get too bulky I can't move well and I like to move. When I'm not training, I get really round and soft," he said.
The 32-year-old takes the Sexiest Man title from Bradley Cooper, who topped the annual poll last year.
