Taylor rooting for King's Speech

Dame Elizabeth Taylor will be watching the Oscars from hospital

Dame Elizabeth Taylor's spokeswoman has said the two-time Oscar winner will spend her birthday watching the Academy Awards in a Los Angeles hospital room, where she is recovering from treatment for congestive heart failure.

Sally Morrison said Liz will be rooting for The King's Speech to win Hollywood's highest honour as she marked her 79th birthday.

Morrison said a proper birthday celebration is planned for when the screen legend returns home.

The actress has been in hospital at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre since early this month. She disclosed her heart condition in November 2004.

Liz won Oscars for Butterfield 8 in 1960 and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf in 1966.
