Taylor Swift encapsulated "mad love" in the songs on her new album Red.
The country singer is currently dating Conor Kennedy and has had a number of high profile relationships with celebrities including John Mayer, Joe Jonas and Taylor Lautner.
Taylor is not a stranger to being crazy in love and wanted to explore the madness further in Red.
"Well, in terms of my album, it kind of signifies the intense, really bold emotions you feel when you're in kind of mad love," she told MTV News.
"And I think that all of the songs on the album are written about those kinds of experiences that I've had."
Taylor is rarely photographed without donning red.
The star is obsessed with the colour.
"I think in terms of, in general, red is just a bold, brave colour," she explained.
"Red is the theme of the moment."
Taylor is proud of how she has musically matured in this record.
"Each song stands on its own musically, sonically and emotionally too," she said.
"It's kind of a patchwork quilt of all these different styles that have influenced me in one way or another."
Red will be released in October.
