'Terrified' ex-Hollyoaks star Danny Mac joins Strictly line-up
Former Hollyoaks actor Danny Mac is the seventh celebrity to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing.
The 28-year-old joins the six-strong list of celebrities already announced including former Eternal member Louise Redknapp, ex-shadow chancellor Ed Balls, singer Will Young, TV presenters Laura Whitmore and Melvin Odoom and sports broadcaster Ore Oduba.
Mac played Mark "Dodger" Savage in the Channel 4 soap from 2011 to 2015.
He has also starred in musicals including Wicked and Legally Blonde.
Despite his background in theatre school and stage acting, Mac is concerned that his dancing skills will be rusty.
He said: "I first danced at college when I was 18. That was the first time I'd ever worn a pair of tights or a dance belt!
"I worked hard at it but it's safe to say when I graduated all my dance gear went in a bag in the loft and hasn't been seen since."
The actor, who is engaged to his Hollyoaks co-star Carley Stenson, said he was also frightened of judges Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli, Darcey Bussell and Len Goodman.
"I am terrified of them all!" he said.
"I get judged every day of my life as an actor so I am used to it, but I hate not being able to do something and they are going to be the ones to tell me - in front of millions.
"I do like a bit of tough love though so I will take it and deal with it ... I hope."
