The Beckhams: It's time to move!
David and Victoria Beckham’s new home is reportedly “so tasteful”.
The former footballer and the fashion designer bought the property in West London in 2013. The mansion spreads across three floors and has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms, but the family were unable to move in until recently because the home needed £10 million worth of renovations.
Victoria is said to be “over the moon” that the work has finally been done and that the couple can move in with their four children; Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 13, Cruz, ten and Harper, four.
“The work was supposed to be finished a year ago, but there have been delays and problems,” an insider told British magazine Heat. “The Beckhams switched interior designers halfway through [from Kelly Hoppen to Rose Uniacke].”
The house is Grade II listed, which means the couple had to make a number of applications to move interior walls and change any historical decor. The family are believed to have added a gym and massage room, a cinema screening room, wine cellar, games room, play room and extended the master bedroom’s ensuite. They have also added a roof garden.
Neighbouring properties complained last year when the couple requested to add air conditioning but despite the opposition, the local council ruled in the Beckhams' favour.
“It’s so tasteful – everything is marble,” the insider continued. “Victoria is so happy to be in her home at long last.”
The couple reportedly sold their former Hertfordshire mansion, dubbed Beckingham Palace, for £12 million. They also own homes in California and the South of France.
