The Wanted singer Max George rejects £150,000 Celebrity Big Brother offer - report

The 28-year-old singer, most famous for his work with the British boyband as well as his former engagement to actress Michelle Keegan.

Former The Wanted singer Max George has reportedly turned down a £150,000 offer to star on Celebrity Big Brother later this year (17).

The 28-year-old singer, most famous for his work with the British boyband as well as his former engagement to actress Michelle Keegan, was apparently approached by Channel 5 bosses about the upcoming programme.

However, fears that his relationship with Michelle may form the focal point of his appearance on the show led to Max turning down the deal, The Sun reports.

"Max isn’t interested in doing any reality TV," a source told the newspaper. "He has been inundated with offers but wants to avoid having to open up about his love life.

"He’s told pals he will leave any reality telly work to his ex-bandmates Tom Parker and Jay McGuiness."

Tom has appeared on Celebrity Masterchef and The Jump, while Jay competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015, winning the glitterball trophy with professional partner Aliona Vilani.

The line-up for this year's Celebrity Big Brother is being kept under wraps by Channel 5. However, one person who has revealed he was asked to star on the show back in January is former winner Stephen Bear.

However, Stephen had to turn down the gig because he had already signed up to appear on E4's Celebs Go Dating. But it remains to be seen whether he could be reentering the house for the next series.

"Of course I’ll do the show again," Stephen told The Sun recently. "They asked me in January and they’re probably going to ask me again this summer.

"This year they asked me last minute – I was already doing Celebs Go Dating."

Other names linked to the upcoming series include former wrestler Hulk Hogan and U.S. reality star Caitlyn Jenner.
