Theron: I’ll remember MacFarlane on deathbed
Charlize Theron has gushed over the strong bond she’s developed with Ted director Seth MacFarlane.
The 38-year-old South African actress stars in the director’s new film A Million Ways to Die in the West.
Charlize has grown a tight bond with Seth and the star imagines she’ll be thinking about their friendship during her final moments on earth.
"The most flattering thing you could say to me is that I could be a match to him," she gushed to People magazine.
"I am a huge fan and have been for many, many years. He's definitely the kind of person that from afar fascinates me. Then you have this opportunity to know someone, and when they don't let you down, that's such a gift. The thing you remember when you're 80 and lying on your deathbed is that. I'll remember the friendship and working with Seth on this movie."
Luckily Charlize’s sentiments for Seth are fully requited, as he also feels a special, timeless connection with the actress.
"We had said 'Hi' here and there. But it was so quickly into the process, I felt like she was someone I'd been working with my entire life,” Seth explained to the publication.
“I really felt like I made a lifelong friend."
A Million Ways to Die in the West follows a meek farmer who is intent on winning his ex-girlfriend’s affection after she leaves him when he wimps out of a gunfight. The farmer, portrayed by Seth, strikes up a friendship with an outlaw’s wife, depicted by Charlize, who shows him how to take up arms in an effort to reunite with his love.
The film will be released in US theatres on May 30.
