Theroux to star in The Leftovers

Justin Theroux is reportedly set to star in new TV series The Leftovers, from the writer of Lost.

He will take the lead part in the pilot of the HBO drama, according to Deadline.

The Leftovers is written by Lost's Damon Lindelof with Tom Perrotta, who wrote the 2011 novel of the same name which it is based on.

It follows a group of people left behind after the Rapture happens and how they learn to deal with the changes in the world around them.

Justin is said to be playing chief of police and father-of-two Kevin Garvey.

His previous TV work has included Six Feet Under, Parks And Recreation and The District.

Justin is engaged to long-time girlfriend Jennifer Aniston.
