Tom Hanks threatens non-voters with spanks

Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks is warning US voters to expect red buttocks if they don't cast their ballots in the presidential election.

The Oscar-winner is keen to get everyone over 18 politically involved.

And he's threatening "spanks from Hanks" to those who don't participate.

"You've got three weeks, and I'm standing by," Hanks told MTV News.

The actor joked that he has connections at every state's voter registration rolls.

The issue isn't a partisan one.

Whether voting for Democratic incumbent Barack Obama or Republican candidate Mitt Romney, the star says every citizen's voice should be heard.

"If you're 18 and you can vote and you don't vote, bend over and drop them because you're going to have red buttocks cheeks," he warned, joking, "I'm not just going to stop at ten or 12. I'm really going to lay into you."

The US presidential election will be held on November 6.

If you're not able to provide them with the luxuries they crave, there will be problems. Then again, you have the potential for being a good provider, so all may be well.More
