Tori ‘takes pay cut’
Tori Spelling is taking a huge pay cut for the next season of her reality show, it has been claimed.
The former 90210 actress is said to have taken a “huge pay cut” after Lifetime network executives told her she would have to make less money to land another series of True Tori.
Tori’s husband Dean McDermott, who admitted cheating on her in the last season of the show, is reportedly not receiving any payment for the new season.
“Lifetime was interested in doing another season of the show,” a source told RadarOnline. “However, Tori had to be willing to take a pay cut, a big one, and she did.
“The pay cut was significant. Tori is making only $50,000 to do season two. And Dean isn’t making a dime. Tori made sure his contract specified that.”
Tori and Dean are reported to have signed up to film eight episodes for the new season, which premieres October 21.
The new season will focus on Tori “healing herself and dealing head-on with the issues that have plagued her for years”, a representative for the network told Radar.
While Tori has reportedly taken a pay cut for the next series, her pals are allegedly unsurprised she managed to convince the network to sign on for another season.
“Her friends think she would have done the reality show for free, she is that obsessed with having her personal life played out on camera!” the source said. “She needs constant validation from Dean and everyone around her.
“With Tori’s ABC Family show, Mystery Girls, being cancelled, once again she is relying on reality television for a paycheck. It’s just stunning that she is continuing to focus on making her life so very public. She should focus on repairing her relationship with Dean, and family time, instead of going down this road.”
Spokespersons for Tori and Lifetime had not commented on the claims at press time.
