Torvill and Dean want hosts on ice

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean want Dancing On Ice hosts Christine Bleakley and Phillip Schofield to take to the rink for the last ever series of the ITV show.

Champion skaters Jayne and Chris told the Daily Mirror that presenter Phillip needed convincing.

Chris, 55, said: "It would be a real shame if the show's hosts Phillip and Christine didn't skate at least once.

"If we keep saying it would be nice to see them on the ice then they may feel pressured to do it.

"I think Christine would be up for it, the problem is convincing Phillip. Come on Phillip - do it."

A show insider was quoted as saying: "Phillip is a good sport. I'm sure he won't let us down."

The show, including six of the past winners - Suzanne Shaw, Hayley Tamaddon, Beth Tweddle, Kyran Bracken, Ray Quinn and Sam Attwater - returns to ITV on January 5.
