Towie star Ferne McCann signs up for Great Scottish Swim
The Only Way Is Essex star Ferne McCann is to join more than 2,000 people taking part in the Great Scottish Swim.
McCann - currently a presenter on ITV's This Morning - will be among a field of about 2,400 swimmers for the 10k event on August 27.
Great Swim ambassador McCann took part in the Manchester leg in July and is now relishing the opportunity to head north for the Scottish event, which takes place in the picturesque surroundings of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs national park.
The 26-year-old said: "I was really apprehensive about my first open water swimming event but I absolutely loved it.
"It's an amazing experience; everyone should give it a go.
"The Great Swim events have a brilliant atmosphere and really are for everyone, no matter what your level of fitness.
"My first swim was down in Salford Quays, so this one will be quite different, I can't wait to get up to Scotland and experience open water swimming against the incredible backdrop of Loch Lomond."
The Great Scottish Swim is the last of five Great Swim events held in lakes, lochs and urban docks around the UK which welcomes participants of all ages and abilities who can take on a range of distances.
It will be the third time the event is held at the iconic Loch Lomond venue.
Paul Bush OBE, VisitScotland's director of events, said: "Loch Lomond has proven itself to be the perfect stage for open water swimming during previous editions of the Great Scottish Swim and I'm sure Ferne is going to enjoy every minute of it.
"We delighted to be supporting the event once again through EventScotland's International Funding Programme and look forward to seeing almost 3,000 swimmers take to the water."
