Tracy Morgan is being treated in hospital after being involved in a six-vehicle accident.

The 30 Rock star was riding in a limousine bus on the New Jersey turnpike when the vehicle was involved in a collision in the early hours of this morning.

There were six other people on board and six vehicles involved in the crash at around 1am, Sgt first class Greg Williams told the Associated Press. According to TMZ, Tracy’s limousine bus was hit from behind by a tractor trailer. Also involved was another tractor trailer, two cars and an SUV.

One passenger on board the bus, James McNair, has died, three are in critical condition, one is reported to be in a fair condition and two others were not hurt.

A spokesman for the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey has confirmed Tracy is being treated there.

The comedian had performed at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino in Delaware last night and was due to take to the stage in North Carolina today, but that has been cancelled.

Reporters have gathered outside the hospital where the SNL star is being treated, but have been asked to wait until more information is available, according to British newspaper The Guardian.
