Tracy Morgan performed two shows in New York on Monday (12Oct15), his first since his car crash in 2014.

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Tracy Morgan has made a triumphant return to the stage following the car crash which put him in a coma last year (14).

The comedian was left with brain trauma and a broken leg and ribs following the incident in June 2014, which happened after a show. His friend and fellow comedian James McNair was killed in the accident, which Tracy was told when he regained consciousness two weeks later.

Although the road to recovery has been slow, the 46-year-old star is now walking again and was well enough to marry his partner Megan in August (15). He has now marked another first by completing a stand-up show at the Comedy Cellar in New York on Monday night (12Oct15).

"My first time on stage in 16 Months at the #ComedyCellar! Picking up the pieces! (sic)," he captioned an image of himself at the venue on Twitter.

The picture shows Tracy looking healthy as he stands unassisted on stage with a microphone in his hand. The front row of the audience can be seen gazing at him in rapt attention.

Not content with just one show, Tracy also took to the stage at The Stand on Monday. Cameras weren't allowed to capture his stint on stage, but sources told he joked about his speech therapy and laughed that a coughing fit was either because of the accident or the amount of marijuana he'd smoked.

It took the star a long time to be well enough to walk on his own, something he was determined to do before he married Megan. He was first seen without a cane in July (15) and admitted it was the thought of his impending nuptials which was spurring him on.

"I want to walk my wife down the aisle," he previously said. "I am determined to play with my little daughter and chase her around."

In August (15) the star received a standing ovation when he appeared at the Emmy Awards. He chose the occasion to show that his accident hadn't affected his sense of humour at all.

"(I) started to feel like myself again, which means a whole lot of women are going to get pregnant at the after party," he laughed.
