Travis discharged from hospital

Randy Travis has been discharged from hospital after suffering heart failure and a stroke.

Country music star Randy was admitted to hospital three weeks ago with congestive heart failure and days later had a stroke.

Randy, 54, left The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano near Dallas, where he'd been admitted on July 7.

His publicist said he had been moved to a physical therapy centre to help him recover from the stroke which he suffered on July 10.

The Grammy Award-winning singer developed the heart failure from a viral illness and when he had the stroke surgeons had to operate to relieve pressure on his brain.

Randy's fiancee Mary Davis gave thanks for the prayers and support the singer had received from his fans and friends for his recovery.

Stars like Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum and Martina McBride and the Grand Ole Opry used Twitter to join his publicist Kirt Webster's call for prayers and fans on Twitter reached out using the hashtag #PrayforRandy.
