Tulisa denies X Factor axe rumours

Tulisa Contostavlos says she could still return to The X Factor this year

Tulisa Contostavlos has denied that she has been axed from The X Factor.

The singer suggested reports she has been dropped from the judging panel of the next series of the TV show might be premature, telling the Sunday Mirror that her contract is still up for renewal.

She said: "I still don't know yet, as like every year I don't find out until the month before.

"I've spoken to Simon (Cowell) via text messages, just general conversation, not about the show."

Tulisa - who sat alongside Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh on the panel - hinted that she would like to return for a third year.

"I love the show and I'm competitive," she said. "I always want to come back and fight. I'm a fighter.

"I don't care what people think. Honestly, I hear no evil, see no evil, I'm in my own bubble. I walk outside and I don't get anything but love, people asking for photographs and autographs."

However, if the 24-year-old doesn't make it back to the judges' table it seems she will be able to fall back on her acting career.

She told the paper: "I've got a movie planned for the end of the year so I'll be filming in LA then. It's 95 per cent confirmed but all I can tell you is it's a sequel."
