Tyger: My Family was predictable
Outnumbered star Tyger Drew-Honey has branded rival BBC sitcom My Family "a bit predictable".
The comedy - starring Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wanamaker - has just been cancelled this year after 11 series, while award-winning Outnumbered is about to return with a fourth series.
Tyger said: "I've never really got into another family sitcom. I have tried to watch My Family before but I found it a bit predictable.
"I think Outnumbered is generally more refreshing [than other sitcoms]. People can relate to it much more."
The 15-year-old actor plays teenage son Jake alongside Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez as his younger siblings Ben and Karen, and Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner as his parents.
Tyger thinks the hit show could work in the US, but accepts an American version would have to have a lot of changes made to it.
He said: "I think a US version of Outnumbered would work, but it would definitely be different.
"For instance, a US version would almost certainly have a laughter track, whereas the absence of one in the UK version is one of the things that I think makes it work so well."
