Tyrese Gibson: 'The Rock's rant isn't about me'
Tyrese Gibson has insisted he has no idea who his Fast 8 co-star Dwayne Johnson was referring to in his recent rant about the "candy a*ses" he works with on the film.
Tyrese Gibson insists he "will never have a problem" with Dwayne Johnson.
The pair has co-starred in the Fast and Furious franchise since Fast Five, which was released in 2011. On Monday (08Aug16), Dwayne, also known by his former wrestling name of The Rock, posted a rare social media rant in which he blasted some unnamed male members of the cast of the latest instalment in the film, Fast 8, for getting his "blood boiling" with their behaviour.
On Tuesday, Tyrese took to his Instagram page to reassure fans that he is not the person Dwayne has a problem with.
He posted a video of his daughter Shayla being sung to by Dwayne and kicked off his caption by writing: "Why are you guys so impressionable? A man wouldn't be singing from his heart and soul to another mans little angel if he had a problem with her dad."
Dwayne's original post has led to mass speculation about who he was referring to, with Tyrese front and centre as he continued to tell his fans he has no idea who the actor is talking about.
"Does any of us know why bro decided to jump out there with his post? No...... Would one assume that IF he's going to jump out there and generalise and say 'Male Co-Stars' he would be more clear and call out names??? Of course he should of," he wrote. "Let me calm you guys all the way down........ I don't know WHO he has a problem (with) and I don't have any details of WHAT those problems are - as a matter of fact if I DID know I would tell you s**t!!!"
Tyrese then referred to the Fast and Furious family, insisting he is "personally not doing this for anyone but my brother Paul Walker". Paul, who played Brian O'Conner in the films, died in November 2013 following a car crash.
He then concluded his post, which has now been deleted, by praising Dwayne, adding: "DJ happens to be one of the most humble, down to earth and professional people I've ever worked with and more importantly he's my brother we have NEVER had a problem and will never have a problem."
Meanwhile, TMZ.com revealed Dwayne's enemy as Vin Diesel, who works as a producer on the franchise as well as starring in the films.
According to the website, the pair met up on Tuesday to put an end to their squabble.
