Victoria and David Beckham were apparently left "horrified" after the comments about their daughter Harper using a dummy.

The 41-year-old star and her husband David are parents to little girl Harper, four, as well as sons Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12, and ten-year-old Cruz.

Earlier this month photos emerged of the former soccer star playing with his youngest, who had a pacifier in her mouth. Harper's still using a dummy has been called out before, but this time around Victoria is said to have felt extremely hurt by the remarks.

"David and Victoria were horrified that their parenting skills were being called into question as they work so hard to be great parents. Victoria was almost in tears and asked David to come out with a statement to publicly address it, despite usually wanting to remain silent over stories about their children," a source told British magazine Closer. "She thought David should be the one to do it as he was the one pictured with Harper."

And that's just what the sportsman did, screen-grabbing the headline from MailOnline, which warned that Harper could end up with speech or dental issues, and posting it on Instagram. The 40-year-old hunk spoke outright and honestly, addressing those getting involved.

"Why do people feel they have the right to criticize a parent about their own children without having any facts ?? Everybody who has children knows that when they aren't feeling well or have a fever you do what comforts them best and most of the time it's a pacifier so those who criticize think twice about what you say about other people's children because actually you have no right to criticize me as a parent ... (sic)" he captioned the shot on Instagram.

Victoria apparently feels even more hurt by the negative attention as she knows that Harper is constantly snapped while out and about, and the fashion designer doesn't want to give "haters" any more "unnecessary ammunition".
