Victoria Beckham joins honourees at Glamour's Women of the Year Award
Victoria Beckham will receive The Fashion Force award at the 25th annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
Victoria Beckham and ballerina Misty Copeland are set to join Reese Witherspoon and Caitlyn Jenner as honourees at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
Legally Blonde star Reese will be recognised as The Hollywood Hero, while another previously-announced honouree, Kim Kardashian's transgender stepfather, Caitlyn Jenner, will receive The Transgender Champion prize.
Pop star-turned-clothing designer Victoria will be feted as The Fashion Force, while Misty, who made history this year (15) as the first African-American female principal dancer at the American Ballet Theater, will be celebrated as The Showstopper.
The World Cup-winning U.S. women's soccer team, entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes and Planned Parenthood's Cecile Richards will pick up awards next month (Nov15), too.
There will also be a special salute to five women affected by the South Carolina church massacre, who became known as The Peacemakers of Charleston for their calls for peace and unity after the horrific June (15) hate crime, which left nine people dead.
The 25th annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards will be opened by comedienne Amy Schumer at New York's Carnegie Hall on 9 November (15) and feature performances by Jennifer Hudson and Ellie Goulding.
To mark the event's special anniversary, Big Apple Mayor Bill de Blasio will declare the date of the prizegiving Women of the Year Day and have the Empire State Building lit up in the magazine's signature pink.
Last year's (14) event celebrated Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o, transgender Orange Is the New Black star Laverne Cox, actress/writer Mindy Kaling, creative director of Alexander McQueen Sarah Burton, supermodel Natalia Vodianova, and former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton.
The full list of 2015 honourees was announced a week after news of Reese and Caitlyn's awards were leaked online. Initial reports suggested the two stars would share the top title of Woman of the Year, but Glamour editors have instead decided to celebrate them in individual categories. The Oscar winner will grace the cover of the publication's upcoming December (15) issue, while Caitlyn and Misty will feature on fold-out covers.
