Victoria Justice: Privacy invasion makes me mad
Victoria Justice has lashed out after suffering a "massive invasion of privacy".
Over the weekend a number of high-profile women were targeted by a hacker who posted images allegedly showing them naked online. Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton were among those affected, with 101 stars said to be involved.
On Sunday Nickelodeon star Victoria, 21, used Twitter to slam the pictures of her which were made public, insisting they were fake. She has now used the social media site to expand on what's happened to her.
"Shortly after I tweeted about certain pics of me being fake, I was faced with a serious violation of privacy," she wrote. "There have always been fake photos of me on the internet, but I will not be put in the position to defend myself as to what is real or what is fake. I am angry at this massive invasion of privacy, and like the other women who are in this situation alongside of me, I am taking legal action to protect my rights (sic)."
It's thought the person/people responsible for leaking the images hacked into the stars' iCloud accounts by guessing their passwords and other security details. The shots were then posted on an image sharing site called 4chan and the FBI has confirmed they are investigating what's happened. Apple has confirmed some accounts were breached, but has released a statement insisting its security systems were not to blame.
Shortly after the shots went public model Kate's attorney released a statement insisting she would not stand for such a blatant invasion of privacy. Her boyfriend, American baseball star Justin Verlander, has been quizzed on the leak, but refused to focus on it saying he doesn't discuss his personal life.
Actress Kaley Cuoco was also targeted, but tried to make light of what's happened to her using Instagram. She posted a picture of herself and her husband Ryan Sweeting strolling on a beach with their private parts pixelated along with the caption: "What a fun day that was, frolicking with my hubs on the beaches of Mexico! Feels like we forgot something?"
