Vince Vaughn proud of Hollywood handprints
Vince Vaughn has been feted at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
The 44-year-old actor was honoured at the iconic establishment yesterday, adding his hand and footprints to the imprints on show outside. His wife Kyla Weber and children Locklyn Kyla and Vernon were there to support him, with Vince admitting he never thought the moment would happen.
"I remember being a young kid – I came out [to LA] when I was 18 - walking down these streets and coming across the Chinese [Theatre] and really being impressed by it and looking at all the names and all the hands and footprints and it being inspiring,” he told ET. “To be included now is a lot of fun."
Vince's friends Jon Favreau and James Marsden were also there to watch proceedings.
The actor is best known for starring in funny movies like Wedding Crashers and The Internship, but next up he has something different. He is appearing alongside Colin Farrell in the new season of True Detective, which previously featured Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
It's a completely new story this time around and Vince is excited to see what people think of it.
"It’s a chance to do something different and we got great material to me working with and I’m really having a great time doing it,” he explained. “It’s a crime story that takes place [in Los Angeles]. The characters are complicated; the worlds that you enter are very interesting. It’s a lot of fun.”
Having his family with him at yesterday's ceremony was a surprise, as Vince is known for trying to keep his personal life private. While his son and daughter aren't often seen in public he is happy to talk about them a little, recently saying Locklyn is obsessed with her little brother, even though sometimes she doesn't want to share with him.
That is probably particularly the case when it comes to Disney movie Frozen, which is the tot's absolute favourite at the moment.
"Like it is her job! Like it is her job," he laughed to Ellen DeGeneres, when talking about how into it his daughter is.
"Elsa... is the one that my daughter really seems to idolise, she doesn’t want to get too close to anyone, because she’ll hurt them, she’ll freeze them and she’ll cause them pain so she has to shut herself out.
"So I wonder what a child psychologist would say about this, but my daughter puts on the white wig and then she is Elsa, that’s who she is. And she tells me she has to shut me out. She shuts out everyone in the room."
