Wahlberg’s ‘most important faith’
Mark Wahlberg has opened up about how his faith plays a central role in his life.
The 42-year-old actor has portrayed many tough characters in films including The Departed and The Fighter.
But in reality his faith is so strong that he often attends church twice on a Sunday when he can.
“It's the most important part of my life. I don't try to push it on anybody and I don't try to hide it,” he told Parade magazine.
“I'll go to church at 7:30 and everybody will be eating breakfast when I come home. Then we'll go to church again at 10:30, if things aren't too hectic.”
Mark has four children with his wife Rhea Durham and the star says he wants to set a good example for his brood.
He received his high school diploma in June of this year and he hopes his commitment to knowledge will inspire his offspring.
“I didn't want the kids saying, 'You didn't do it, so why do I need it?' They are all wanting to do things in their future that require an education,” he previously told People magazine.
Mark’s next project sees him move away from the big screen and into the world of reality television for Wahlburgers, which begins in January.
In the show Mark teams up with his family, including his New Kids On The Block star brother Donnie, to open a burger restaurant in their hometown of Boston.
“It’s compelling because we’re building a business with family, which is not easy to do. My mom kind of runs it with my brother Paul, and Donnie and I are trying to expand. Expect a lot of laughs and arguments from a bunch of Irish Catholics!” Mark added to Parade.
