The Wanted have said there is no competition between them and the X Factor boy band, One Direction.

One Direction are tipped to win the show alongside favourites Matt Cardle and Rebecca Ferguson, and the chart-topping group are more than happy to extend a welcome to them.

Jay McGuinness said: "We welcome them into the fold of boy bands - this is the boy band year and we're glad we're not the newbies any more. We've now got a little bit more experience compared to them."

His bandmate Tom Parker added: "We've been discussing it over the last few weeks. They're getting better and better as the show goes on, and when we first started this band, we wanted other bands to support us.

"JLS and Take That said good things about us so it's only right for us to do the same."

The Wanted, who participated in the BlackBerry Live And Lost tour, have been watching the ITV show.

"We have a similar top three - Rebecca, One Direction and Matt. Cher's good as well. And Mary. They're all quite good this year and they're all really different," said Jay.

Tom chipped in: "The standard is really high."

:: The Wanted took part in the Live And Lost tour with BlackBerry, where they are dropped in a remote location with only £20 and a BlackBerry Torch 9800. Their adventures can be seen on www.blackberry.com/liveandlost.
