Shayne Ward reckons he could give Tom Cruise a run for his money in Rock Of Ages.
The former X Factor winner will be playing bad boy Stacee Jaxx in the West End production of the musical, while the Mission: Impossible star is portraying the rocker in Adam Shankman's film version - and Shayne thinks his Irish roots would give him the edge over Tom.
Asked if he would give more attitude, he said: "Of course, yeah! It's the Irish in me that makes me a bad-a**."
Shayne is excited about seeing Tom's performance on the big screen, but said he's not worried about any comparisons to the Hollywood actor.
"I saw a great picture of him recently playing Stacee Jaxx. It's going to be fun to see his take on it," he continued.
"But he's a great actor. So I'm just going to be who I think Stacee Jaxx is. People can compare, but they shouldn't really compare to be honest."
The 26-year-old is looking forward to showing people his wilder ways.
"It's definitely going to show people my personality, which a lot of people don't know," he said.
"It's been missing for most of six years, because when I did my music, I never featured on any talk shows. I want to show people who I am."
:: Rock Of Ages The Musical opens at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London on August 31, and Shayne's next single, Must Be A Reason Why featuring J Pearl, will be released on October 10.
