Watch: Eamonn Holmes spurned by 'best friend' on National Dog Day

Published 26/08/2016

Eamonn Holmes was left with a hangdog expression after he was spurned by his 'best friend' on this, National Dog day.

For a segment on This Morning to mark National Dog Day, the Belfast-born presenter and his wife Ruth Langsford stood apart to see who their dog Maggie would run to.

And despite the pet making a beeline for our Eamonn - "like an exocet missile" - after a quick sniff it ran to the arms of Ruth.

Eamonn accused his wife of using biscuits to bribe the lovable dog while Ruth said as he considered himself the victor he could walk the dog every night.

"My hips..." was Eamonn's response.
