Watch: Ed Sheeran opens up about drunk antics with Justin Bieber during Carpool Karaoke
Ed Sheeran is the latest star to join James Corden for his Carpool Karaoke segment on The Late, Late Show and has revealed all about a drunken night with Justin Bieber in Tokyo.
The singer spent the day travelling around LA with James, performing his well known hits Shape of You, Thinking Out Loud and Castle On The Hill.
He also spoke about his love for dive bars, revealing he recently brought Canadian singer Justin to one.
"I was in Tokyo the other day and Bieber was there, and it was just him. He came, no security or anything, he came to this really filthy dive bar," he explained.
"We ended up at this golf course. He put a golf ball inside his mouth and said 'go on hit it out' and I was pretty hammered.
"I had this driving wedge, and cracked him across the face. He was actually really cool about it,' he added.
Ed also told James why he decided to get rid of his phone and only uses email as a way of communication.
He said: "I'd wake up in the morning to about 50 messages and none of them would say 'hey, how are you?', it would be like, 'can I have this, can you lend me this, can you do this, can I get this?' and it was fine at the beginning, but it got really draining by the end of it.
"Getting rid of that, going traveling, getting perspective, making an album that I love, everything is great," he added.
During their time in the car, Ed impressed James with his ability to hold 55 Malteser chocolates in his mouth.
The singer is set to headline Glastonbury 2017 later this month.
