Nicole Kidman and friend Naomi Watts are planning a "Princess Party" to celebrate their forthcoming royal roles.

Nicole will play Princess Grace in the upcoming biopic Grace of Monaco, while Naomi stars as Princess Diana in Diana.

The actresses were speaking at Sunday night's SAG awards where Naomi was nominated for her role in The Impossible and Nicole presented an award.

"You said we were going to have a princess party," Nicole told Naomi during a joint interview with E! Online.

"I was joking, but maybe we'll have a tea party kind of thing," laughed Naomi.

Diana, which is scheduled for release later this year, explores the late British princess' relationships with Dr Hasnat Khan and Dodi Fayed following her divorce from Prince Charles.

Grace of Monaco explores the personal story of the late Grace Kelly during a six-month period of her life in 1962, when the new princess helps save the city-state from a French coup,

Meanwhile, the actresses also expressed their desire to work together on a new movie, having last co-starred in 1991 film Flirting.

"We've been looking for a long time now," said Naomi.

"But both of us have picky tastes. It has to be the right piece."
