Foyle's War actress Honeysuckle Weeks has said she'd love to do another instalment of the drama - if Anthony Horowitz writes more.
The creator of the ITV drama has hinted that the current series, which comes after a three-year hiatus, could be the last.
"If Anthony's prepared to do more, I would definitely do them, because I wouldn't want anyone else to play my part!" she said.
Honeysuckle, who plays Sam Stewart, said that she was amazed to find herself invited to the mayor of New York's London residence on the back of the show.
The series is big in America and counts Michael Bloomberg among its many fans there.
She said of her invite: "The heads of the CIA were there as well, the American Ambassador, Kevin Spacey and me. I thought, 'What am I doing here?' I'm sure they all thought that as well! 'Who the hell's that and what's she doing there?'
"I was trying not to speak, so I wouldn't be proved an idiot. You know that saying, 'If you say nothing at all, people don't know you're an idiot, whereas if you do say something, they will know you're an idiot'.
"I didn't speak until I was spoken to and then I tried to pretend I was really intellectual and knew what I was talking about!"
:: Foyle's War concludes tonight (April 7).
