Whitehall: I'm cooler than JP!
Jack Whitehall thinks his stint presenting the NME Awards proves he's not like his posh Fresh Meat character.
The comedian plays toff student JP in the Channel 4 comedy, and said people think he doesn't have to act in the role.
"People say it's myself, which is not true because look where I am now: cool, indie, rock n roll," he said.
"My dad set up a trust fund for when I was very young and siphoned off all the money to get me this gig," he then quipped.
Fresh Meat scooped an award for best comedy at the ceremony, at London's Brixton Academy, but Jack said he was sad to see the other nominees miss out.
"We won best TV show, although to be perfectly honest This Is England is so good, and Misfits I love. I'm not dissing Fresh Meat because I'm pleased Fresh Meat won," he said.
Host Jack added that the strangest part of the night was being groped by Tom Meighan from Kasabian.
"One of Kasabian grabbed me in the nether regions!" he said.
