Whitehall to hit gym for Fresh Meat
Jack Whitehall has vowed to hit the gym if his comedy Fresh Meat gets a second series.
The comedian takes on his first-ever acting role in the E4 comedy, written by Peep Show's Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, about a group of freshers at Manchester University.
Jack plays ladies' man JP and revealed that he spends a lot of the first series naked.
He said: "Well, I didn't go to the gym. I thought it would be all right, I don't have that bad a body, but then you see it on the screen and you think, 'Oh my God, what are those chicken legs and hairy a***?'"
He went on: "It's not good; I definitely don't think I'm going to be 'Torso of the Week' anytime soon. Next series I'm definitely going to go down to the gym and make myself a bit better."
Even though he went to Manchester uni, Jack said he was nothing like JP while he was there.
He said: "I went out with a girl in uni for quite a long time. JP doesn't have a girlfriend, he's basically just trying to get his end away."
:: Fresh Meat, which also stars Joe Thomas, begins on Channel 4 on September 21.
