Ann Widdecombe will test her general knowledge skills on The Chase

Ann Widdecombe is to brave the wrath of The Chase - in an attempt to win money for charity.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star and politician is among the celebrities taking part in the special edition of ITV1's quiz show, alongside Eamonn Holmes, Carol Vorderman, Alex James, John Thomson, Jenny Frost and Michelle Collins.

Austin Healey, Sara Cox, Sally Lindsay, Barry McGuigan, Shaun Williamson, Nick Hancock, Jenny Eclair, Sue Cleaver, Paul Ross, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Phil Tufnell, Ulrika Jonsson, Jennie Bond, Joe Pasquale, Janet Street-Porter and Mark Durden Smith will also put in a bid to win thousands of pounds for their chosen charities.

They will put their general knowledge to the test against one of Britain's finest quiz brains, and could be in for a big money win if they can beat the Chaser.

The six-part show, presented by Bradley Walsh, will be shown on ITV1 on Saturday nights.

Irrational people are often thrown off balance when their behaviour is addressed in a direct manner.More
