Will.i.am back in new Voice series?

Will.i.am could be returning to The Voice rather than crossing the pond for American Idol

Will.i.am is reported to be returning as a coach for the third series of The Voice.

He is said to be joining Sir Tom Jones on the panel again for the BBC singing contest, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Other judges Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue announced in July they would be leaving the show which means there are still at least two seats available.

Kylie Minogue is rumoured to be likely to take one of the remaining spots but is yet to sign on for definite.

Will.i.am had been in talks with American Idol about heading back across the pond to judge, but the deal has apparently broken down, despite him having a good rapport with Jennifer Lopez, who is expected to return to the US show.

JLS star Marvin Humes and former Spice Girl Mel C have both expressed an interest in joining The Voice as coaches.
