will.i.am "refuses" to be a celebrity who doesn't value his roots.
The American musician rose to international prominence as a member of hip-hop group The Black Eyed Peas and has since worked with some of the biggest names in music.
will remembers those people who helped him on his way to the top of the industry, and has slammed other stars for getting too big for their boots.
"The problem is that celebrity makes everything easier. Stars have no clue about how much they spend. Even worse, they never value those who made them make money!" he exclaimed to French publication Be.
"I refuse to be like them."
will often looks to the future and thinks about what he'd like to be doing. The 37-year-old star - who also serves as a mentor on the UK version of The Voice - has joked he'll be singing his catchy party lyrics well into his old age.
"No [I don't want to quit the band]. Not yet. At 37, I have realised that I have done more than I ever hoped," he smiled.
"What will I do in 20 years, I don't know yet... Still sing, 'It's gonna be a good night, good night?' Hmmm!'"
