Henry Winkler is hoping his honorary OBE entitles him to sleepovers at Buckingham Palace.

"I was thinking of moving in with the Queen," the Happy Days actor joked at the Hollywood premiere of his son Max's new film Ceremony.

"She wouldn't mind," he teased. "They've got a lot of rooms, I don't eat a lot and I could borrow one of her hats!"

The star, who's perhaps best known for his role as The Fonz, has been awarded the Order of the British Empire for his work in raising awareness about dyslexia of which he was eventually diagnosed at the age of 31.

"I'm flabbergasted," he admitted about the honour. "The Queen wrote me a letter, I was over the moon!"

Since 2003, Henry has collaborated on a series of children's books about Hank Zipzer, a school boy who has the learning disability.

Henry explained: "I tour England with my books and with First News, the award winning newspaper for kids. We talk to children about how each child learns in their own way. Then all of a sudden I got a wonderful letter from the Queen about my work with children who learn differently."
