Womack: I turned down BGT role
Former EastEnders star Samantha Womack has revealed she turned down Simon Cowell's offer to join the judging panel on Britain's Got Talent.
The actress and singer was rumoured to have been in talks for the ITV talent show and has now confirmed to The Sun that Simon flew her to the US to discuss becoming a judge.
Samantha said: "I thought about doing it, because you'd be crazy not to. Simon Cowell flew me out to his mansion in Los Angeles. I was already committed to the musical South Pacific but I wanted to see what Simon and his house were like!
"It was amazing to witness LA like that and have the big black car pick me up. Simon was bloody charming. He's very easy to talk to and he smoked like a trooper. I took a sneaky photo of his house on my mobile - and I think he caught me doing it!
"It was a lovely meeting, but at the end of the day, it's just not me."
The new series of Britain's Got Talent features former Strictly Come Dancing judge and singer Alesha Dixon on the panel, along with comedian David Walliams, Simon and Amanda Holden.
