Wright: Spacey cracks me up on set

Robin Wright stars with Kevin Spacey in House Of Cards

Robin Wright has revealed Kevin Spacey is always making her laugh while filming their new show House Of Cards.

Margin Call actor Kevin plays the power-hungry Majority Whip of the US House of Representatives in the Netflix drama, with Robin as his scheming wife.

She revealed: "We're complete goofs. We cut each other up with laughter to the point where we have to stop takes sometimes because we're laughing so hard.

"(Kevin)'s a lot of fun and he likes to play and improvise when the camera's rolling. You couldn't have a better forum to go to work, where it's not just saying the words on the page in the same way. Every take, we literally do a dance with each other."

Robin said her character was like the Lady Macbeth to Kevin's Macbeth.

"She is very stoic, almost like a bust in a museum. And there's a strength and a power and a loyalty and a royalty in that. She's the matriarch of the Underwood duo.

And I like the idea of not knowing a thing about her, not having a back story or history... You're going to see throughout the season and in season two that the marble piece will slowly start to crack and the human soft woman will erode through many machinations. So it'll be so much fun to go through that evolution."

:: House Of Cards can be viewed on Netflix from February 1.
