Wright’s ‘very supportive ex-fiancé’
Robin Wright and her former future-husband Ben Foster apparently seemed like best buds at a Golden Globes after party.
The 48-year-old House of Cards actress called off her engagement with 34-year-old actor Ben Foster in November 2014.
The pair graced the red carpet together at the Golden Globes over the weekend though and at an after party it’s claimed they appeared to be on great terms with each other.
“They acted like they were back on,” a source told Page Six. “They sat in a booth with a group of people and stayed very close to each other all night. He seemed very supportive.”
Robin and Ben began dating in 2012, two years after her divorce from Sean Penn was finalised.
Reports of her engagement with Ben became public in January 2014, but apparently Robin ended the betrothal due to their incredibly busy lifestyles.
"She got swept up in the engagement last Christmas, but then their schedules got crazy and she realised it wasn't the right decision," an insider told Us Weekly previously.
It was over the summer when Robin is said to have had enough of trying to juggle her career and personal life. She was busy working on the third series of Netflix show House of Cards in Baltimore, then jetting to Los Angeles to spend time with her kids Dylan, 23, and Hopper Jack, 21, who she has with ex-husband Sean.
To add to their problems, the 14-year age gap was also reportedly an issue.
"The gap just ended up being too much," a source explained. "Ben was kind of immature. She couldn't deal with him anymore."
The pair got to know each other on the set of their 2011 film Rampart. It would have been the third time Robin walked down the aisle, following her marriages to Sean and also Dane Witherspoon.
