X Factor judges hit gold standard

Cheryl Cole and Mel B hinted that they were aiming for gold as they attended the latest X Factor auditions.

The TV judges arrived at London's Emirates Stadium with Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh to whittle down the entries for the ITV show.

Cheryl donned black trousers, a white top, matching white heels - and a large, eye-catching gold necklace.

Mel opted for a tight, black leather top, fitted blue jeans and long, gold safety pin-style earrings.

The panel are continuing to whittle down the entries at various locations after beginning their search in Manchester.

Cheryl has returned to the panel after a four-year absence, while Spice Girl Mel is a new recruit although she has been a stand-in guest judge.

Simon has returned to the panel after a gap while he launched the X Factor in the US.
