Christina Aguilera’s daughter is a daddy’s girl, according to the star.

The Fighter singer has one-year-old daughter Summer with her beau, as well as son Max, seven, from her first marriage. Christina loves how much Matthew has bonded with her little boy, and how dedicated he is to their baby girl.

“Matt is such a great dad,” she told British magazine Hello! “I knew he would be but his connection with Summer and attention to her has exceeded all expectations. When she comes into the room, he just lights up. She’s a daddy’s girl for sure.”

It’s no surprise then that the couple went all out to celebrate Summer’s first birthday last month. The family decided on a carnival theme for the tot. Setting everything up in the back yard of their Los Angeles home, everyone had a wonderful day together.

“Summer is always so happy,” Christina smiled. “I think she was just excited to be surrounded by so many people – and Minnie [Mouse] of course! We wanted a carnival-type theme, fun games and lots of balloons and bubbles. We were surrounded by so many close friends and family. It was filled with love.”

At the front of the queue to give well wishes and kisses to the birthday girl was big brother Max. Christina loves to see her offspring playing together, and Summer attempting to do everything Max does.

“He just loves Summer, he wants to show her all he can do and is so gentle,” she added.

The toddler unsurprisingly loves music and dancing just like her famous mother. But Christina isn’t sure if her daughter will follow in her footsteps.

“It’s too early to tell, but she loves music – what kid doesn’t?” she said.
